Recently, US has imposed tariffs Indiscriminately under various pretexts on its trading partners, including China. This not only seriously violates the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises in relevant countries, including Chinese metal material circulation enterprises, but also severely disrupts the world economic order and seriously undermines the stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain.
On behalf of the relevant entire Chinese supply chain and industry of metal materials procurement, production, processing, warehousing, logistics, and end consumption, etc, CAMT firmly opposes US trade protectionist government and firmly supports all the countermeasures taken by the Chinese government to safeguard national interests and the rights and interests of enterprises. We propose that all members, together with colleagues in the entire supply chain industry of global metal materials procurement, production, processing, warehousing, logistics, and end consumption stand together to jointly overcome the challenges of US trade protection and safeguard the high-quality development of China's economy.
Firstly, stay united and jointly oppose US hegemonic acts. In the 21st century, the trend of global supply chain integration has become even more prominent, and the initiative of building a "Community with a Shared Future for Mankind" has gained even deeper resonance. Under such circumstances, the global metal materials circulation industry and enterprises should establish a mindset of collaborative development, unite for development, make progress together, and resolutely oppose the trade hegemonic acts of the United States.
Secondly, enhance the resilience and strength of the international industrial chain and supply chain. Adhere to the international route of openness and win-win cooperation, broaden the global perspective, and accelerate the pace of "going global" through diversified cooperation. Firmly promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment, firmly safeguard the stability and smooth operation of the global industrial chain and supply chain, enhance the resilience and strength of the supply chain and industrial chain, and firmly build an open and inclusive world economic system.
Thirdly, open up green procurement channels. Give full play to the stabilizing role of state-owned and central enterprises in sales strategic procurement . Formulate a recommended supplier catalogue for outstanding foreign trade enterprises, open up green channels to simplify the qualification review process, support foreign trade enterprises in expanding their domestic sales channels, empower more enterprises to "go abroad", and facilitate the integrated development of domestic and foreign trade, conduct in-depth cooperation with other relevant countries around the world.
Fourthly, explore the potential space for reducing logistics costs and increasing efficiency. Adhere to the thinking and concepts of the supply chain, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the organizational models and production methods in the circulation of metal materials. Deepen the strategic cooperation and integrated development with manufacturing enterprises, foreign trade enterprises, and end-consumption enterprises. Explore new areas for reducing costs and increasing efficiency, and enhance the international competitiveness of the real economy.
Fifthly, build a community with a shared future in the supply chain. Give full play to the leading role of the "chain master" enterprises in the supply chain, safeguard the upstream and downstream enterprises, establish an ecological model, alleviate the pressure from tariffs, form a community with a shared future featuring "risk sharing, benefit sharing, and value jointly creating" and construct a modern supply chain system that is safer, more resilient, and more sustainable.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant departments, CAMT will give full play to the functions and roles of a national-level industry organization in "leading, guiding, standardizing, and serving". It will actively reflect the demands of member enterprises, promote the research and formulation of policies beneficial to enterprises, organize more special activities such as opportunities for "go abroad" and international cooperation exhibitions to help the entire supply chain industry of metal materials procurement, production, processing, warehousing, logistics, and end consumption to cope with the bully tariffs imposed by US and safeguard the high-quality development of China's economy.
